60th Birthday Party

Saturday, August 8, 2009 we again headed to the farm for dad's 60th Birthday party. It was a VERY HOT day. We were worried about storms coming through, as there were tornado watches and warnings in the area. Fortunately the storms went North of us, and we ended up having a great turn-out for the party and good food and fellowship!
Dad, with one of his gifts from a friend.....the perfect golf club and tee for an "old" man!

Sydney and Jaclyn passing the time on the swingset. Dad and friends watching the entertainment....see below....
What is the best way to stay cool on a very hot day - with WATER BALLOONS!!!!
We spent a good part of the afternoon before the party filling up water balloons. See the buckets full of them?? Some were used for getting others wet, some for water-volleyball, but most of them were launched at the silo (we sure know how to make our own fun!!!) in hopes to be the lucky person to get it through the opening at the top. This was no easy feat....but by the end of the evening we had a winner...then we switched to launching them straight in the air and awaiting them to fall down on a select few who were willing to chance getting hit by them! Such FUN!!!!
Aiming for the silo (see the little black opening at the top - that is where we were trying to get a balloon to go through)...Shane giving it a try....Jer and my dad holding the balloon launcher.

Sydney also having a turn....and now Samantha, who got SOOOO close -she hit right next to the opening!!
