It was amazing to be surrounded by so many familiar names...sort of felt like we were back home surrounded by our Dutch roots. Jer happened to go to a local grocery store and was amazed at how the people even looked like people we know from back home. Could these be our relatives??? I suppose so :O)
Names along the way
While driving in The Netherlands we saw so many familiar names on signs, trucks, etc... that we started keeping a list just for fun. Some of the names on this list include Visser, Bosman, Veenstra, Kuiper, Roelof, DeWaard, VanVliet, Groeneweg, VanDonkelaar, Hanenburg, Hoogendoorn, Dusseldorp, Boonstra, Bos, VanderLinden, Bouma, Hartog, Zommerman, Prins, Molenaar, Wiersma, VanDongen, VanHolland, Baker, Ploeg, Maas, VanderBerg, VanderMeer, Uietenbogaard, Vregdenhil, DeJong, VanderPlas, Schenk, Hofman, Driessn, VanGelder, TeKoop and last but definately not least - VAN ESSEN!
