Last Day Skiing

December 26 was our last day skiing. Jer and Shane got up early and headed out first thing to get a few hours of skiing in yet before we had to check out of our apartment. I sent the girls and Silas down to the playroom while I packed up the bags, and cleaned up the breakfast dishes etc... Once the van was loaded up we headed to Flachauwinkl to get a bit more skiing in before heading home.

Since Shane had been skiing already that morning - he opted to hang out with me (and Silas and Shelby) at the base station while Jer and the girls hit the slopes one last time.
Heading up into the mountains...

Jer took the girls up to Zauchensee where the 2011 Woman's World Cup skiing tour is taking place in January.
Seeing these pictures just amaze me - my little girls are skiing down those slopes...

Back at base camp - eating some lunch. Our table was right by the little fireplace - nice and toasty warm!
Silas and daddy - can you see Silas's hair? It was all curly and sticking up everywhere from "hat head" - he looked so funny.

Now it is time for the long drive home....on the way we were sure glad to be on our side of the Autobahn as there were long STAUS (traffic jams) in the opposite direction. All those other drivers heading to Austria to go skiing the week after Christmas....I'd say we got the better deal:)
A beautiful sunset on our way home....we had a wonderful trip. We may even try to get back yet sometime this winter for more skiing fun!
