Fasching Fun 2010

Saturday night we went to Eppingen for some Fasching fun! My friend Lexi had told me about this town and how it was having a night parade with mostly traditional wooden masks. We decided it would be fun to go and check it out. We went early evening (walked around the quaint town a bit), met Lexi and her family there (along with some other friends too). We ate supper together at a local restaurant - and then enjoyed the parade! The masks were amazing...and some quite scarey (Sydney and Shaylee were not to keen on these at all) as they were of witches and trolls and such to "scare away WINTER"....well they scared away my little girls. Fortunately there was plenty of other entertainment in the parade as well - bands with amazing costumes and fun music, lots of confetti, some candy, and just all around crazy fun!

Owen, Shane, and Tab waiting for the parade to start...and hoping to fill their hats with candy! Jer and Silas going up to the Palmbrau wagon...guess what they were handing out!

A few of the characters from the parade....they would come RIGHT up to you....(I didn't take pictures of the really scarey ones...some I just don't want to remember).

This guy wasn't soo scarey....one of the bands with elaborate costumes...

A bit more on the "normal" side...a big floating whale....and more bands with great music to dance to.

Shaylee and Lexi's husband Jody - great spot to see the parade from up there...and not get bothered by the scarey people. And the whole gang before heading home. We had a fun time - and have more Fasching fun to look forward to this coming week and into next week...more parades, parties, costumes, and candy!
