Crafts

Jer and Shane went skiing today - the other 3 kids and I spent some time making crafts. The kids had recieved a new craft idea book from Aunt Ruth and Uncle Tom for Christmas - and so they were eager to try some of the craft projects.

While we were making the balloon creatures - Shaylee kept referring to her project as "her masterpiece" - I just couldn't help but smile. She even asked Silas if he would like to help her with "her masterpiece" when she was coloring on the balloon.

Silas (with mommy's help) made a balloon creature too - a lizzard. He played with it for a little while...so it goes with crafts.
Sydney decided to make a game. The book showed how to make a frog - but she wanted to make a puppy dog. So we cut a puppy shape out of cardboard, cut a round hole out for the mouth, and glued a cup underneath the mouth hole. Then Syd painted it to look like a dalmation. When the paint was dry we tied one end of a string around the cup, the other end of the string has a small object tied to it. The goal is to get the small object (dog treat) into the puppy's mouth. When all the glue and paint was finally dry (it seems to take forever when you want to play with your new toy) Sydney had a fun time playing the game. The other kids gave it a try too.
Syd painting - and the finished project!!!!!
