Klein Matterhorn and Glacier Paradise

Jer and Shane boarded a cable car headed up to Klein Matterhorn and Glacier Paradise while the girls, Silas, and I headed back down to the hotel. Due to the elevation at Klein Matterhorn (12,736 feet), Silas was too little to go up. I still wanted Jer and Shane to be able to experience the highest lift station in Europe! So UP they went.

First stop is Trockener Steg - we've still got higher to go. WOW - look at the view!

We've arrived at the SNOW! But wait - we still need to climb up there (to the top of the mountain/rock behind Shane (in the last picture) for the highest view!

The Matterhorn behind Shane, looking over the ridge into France and Italy! Snow, snow, snow - here is where they ski all year! And what else do you expect a little kid to do in the snow but make a snow angel!

They made it to the top! What an AWESOME view! At the top there was a cross and this sign posted...

Glacier Palace - basically a hole dug into an actual glacier with ice sculptures and exhibits. Very neat - but COLD!
