Costa Brava - Spain

On Monday May 18, 2009 we headed to Spain! We went with another family - the Dicksons. With all of us we had a group of 13! We took our first Ryan Air flight -which went well, although Silas is definately getting more interesting to fly with. We arrived in Spain late on Monday night, got our rental car and headed to our destination - a Villa we rented in Begur, which is a little town in the Costa Brava area of Spain. Our trusty navigation took us on a winding mountain road that had we been driving during the day would have been VERY scenic...but since we were driving at night we were not so impressed with - and actually wondering if we would ever get to our destination...we kept adding time instead of subtracting as we got closer. There were a lot of hairpin turns and NO civilization. We had no other map - just an address - so we trusted the nav. We finally made it to our destination - but I think there is a faster route, guess we will try that on the way home!

Anyway - we got settled and tucked into bed. Tuesday morning we slept in a bit, then sent the men out to get a few groceries so we could actually have breakfast. And then we headed to the BEACH!

It was just beautiful!

My little beach bums...

The kids headed right for the water - it was a bit too cold for me...but they loved it!

Everyone had to check out the fresh coconut being cracked open...

The kids did some fishing with a net....they got some crayfish, and some other little fish...they were pretty proud of their catch...here they are hauling it back to our spot.

We had a wonderful time at the beach - but the fun didn't stop there. After we got back to the house - the kids went swimming in our pool - and us adults hung out on the lounge chairs.

We really enjoyed our house (Villa). Here are a few pictures....

A view from the top terrace which even had a swingset and play area for the kids. Then looking up at the house from the street. Everything is built up into the hills. A few stairs to climb, but we also had a lift (elevator) inside.
The entire crew of 13!
