Saturday night (after a day of skiing) Jer and I went out to dinner with our friends Mark and Lisa Dickson (same family Jer went skiing with). The Dicksons have 2 teenage daughters (as well as 2 boys) and the girls watched all the kids so we adults could go out! We had a lovely dinner at the Die Kartoffel (THE POTATOE) in Ladenburg. This restaurant is known for its baked potatoes as well as for the hot stones you personally grill your steak on! The perfect way to cook it to your own liking! After we had eaten, while we were waiting for the waiter to bring us our bill - the waiter comes down with a flaming dessert! There were two sparklers stuck in it! Happy Birthday Jer!!!! The waiter must have heard us refering to Jer as the birthday guy and decided to treat Jer to a nice surprise! The dessert consisted of a fried potato pancake (would you expect anything less from a restaurant called "The Potatoe") with a peach slice topped with ice cream and whipped cream. It was an interesting combination - but hey, it was good and it was free!

Happy Birthday, Jer! He is on my calendar-- 35, right? I still have all the small group people and their ages on the calendar! We actually spent the weekend at home ALONE for our anniversary. With moving, we've had a lot on our plates and hadn't gotton a chance to catch up on things and have some peace and quiet. It was much needed!!! We move on the 28th, but Josh is officially done at PCI this Thursday. We are still getting financing and details worked out with the lumberyard, so that has been a little stressful. We are still finishing up stuff on our house, it is not for sale yet. Lots to think about...I'm sure you went through the same thing when transitioning to Germany. My email has changed josh.emily99@yahoo.com I need yours again, too! Well- glad you got a birthday date. We think you are awesome-- Josh was thinking alot about Jer when comtemplating going for the business....some friends will always be close at heart :)
